Studded Rubber
We use a variety of outsoles across our men’s and women’s lines, but the majority of our boots feature studded rubber bottoms. For style, certain products feature leather outsoles, diamond patterns, or a mix of leather and rubber. But, we use studded rubber on most of our shoes and boots because it provides unmatched grip and durability.

Abrasion Resistant
The first Thursday Boots featured studded rubber outsoles like the ones we use today. The biggest distinguishing factor is, and has been, that they’re softer than our competitors’. At the very beginning of Thursday, we used softer studs, but decided to invest the time and resources into engineering outsoles with unmatched abrasion resistance.

Extra Bounce
We worked with our rubber supplier to create durable and comfortable soles with amazing traction, but comfort was an early priority. As our Head of Production Operations explained, “Thursday outsoles are purely designed for comfort. But, along with that, we’ve also engineered a superior type of rubber that gives us ideal abrasion resistance. Normally, the softer the compound, the faster it breaks. Ours lasts longer, while being softer and more comfortable.”

Water-Displacing Lugs
Another defining feature of our proprietary outsoles are their studs. To effectively displace water, we’ve implemented round “lugs” to grip the ground. Like tires on a car, we use special texturing to prevent the soles from sliding when they make contact with water. Instead, liquid fills into the circular recesses within the lugs, allowing the inner knob to touch the ground, and preventing slippage.

Oil and Electricity Resistant
Our studded rubber outsoles are oil and electrical current resistant because Thursday was founded around the idea that footwear should be ready to take you anywhere. By giving people the option to wear their everyday boots as workwear, we’re honoring our commitment to creating versatile styles, perfect for every occasion.
